Since 2012 RUF has been involved in the second reconstruction of Jintai village, a project costing Rmb9.2m (RUF has so far donated Rmb2.3m). During the building boom that followed the Wenchuan earthquake, the village was struck by another calamity – a landslide – which destroyed many near-completed buildings. It raised the question of why, if something was to be rebuilt, could it not be better?
