Goals and motivations
Rachel Loughrey is a RIAI registered architect, architectural tutor and lecturer, researcher and writer, and sustainability and circular economy consultant and visual artist. She has worked as a circular material project manager in the Irish Green Building Council, mainly working as Circularity Project Lead for the Construction Materials Exchange (CMEx). She has a varied experience in the architecture sector working as an architect and architectural designer on projects from large scale developments to one-off houses in several architecture and planning offices. She is the co-founder of the BPA Collective, a design/build collective, based in Ireland. She is passionate about mitigating climate change and is the founder of ACAN (Architects Climate Action Network) Ireland, and is involved in several environmental organisations. I am focusing on design/ build project created together with community. My intention is to build only with natural and circular materials in countries heavily impacted by the climate and ecological crisis.
