Ana Asensio
Goals and motivations
Ana Asensio (born in Almería, 1986) is an architect M.Arch (UGR) trained between Granada, Venice, London and Santiago de Chile thanks to a series of international scholarships, and a Cultural Management Technician (UEMC). Specialized in memory and popular / vernacular architecture (Research Grant, UGR, 2015), and Basic Habitability for Precarious Human Settlements (Postdegree, UPM, 2017), she develops her activity through research, documentary, cultural action and architectural praxis, especially focused on the crossover between popular heritage, contemporary culture, human rights and rural habitat. "Architecture is a human right, and architects have the tools to accompany communities on this path" "Our culture is our independence, and education, the key to possible human development". "Our home, our community, the landscape we inhabit and the territory we occupy... only where thought dwells we can "be" over and above "exist".
