open call - 72 hour urban action stuttgart
72 Hour Urban Action is the world's first real-time architecture competition. It is defined by an extreme deadline, a tight budget, and limited space to respond to, and resolve, local community needs. Teams have three days and three nights to plan and realise projects in response to assigned missions. The aim is to transform the public realm and to raise ambitions amongst residents and the municipality for higher quality public space, while demonstrating that this need not be costly, nor take a very long time.
In July 2012, 72 Hour Urban Action is coming to Stuttgart.

Applications to participate are now open and entries can be submitted until 26 May. You can apply as an individual, or as a team of up to six people and entry is free. Teams of 10-12 people will then be put together by the organisers. Anyone is welcome to apply – you don't need to be a qualified architect, just to have a passion for action. Successful applicants will be notified at the start of June.
The 72 Hour Urban Action event itself will take place from 11-14 July in Stuttgart, Germany.

IDEO.org class of 2013 | Fellowship Program
We’re out to design a better world, and we need your help. The IDEO.org Fellowship Program enables future global leaders from the design, business, and social sectors to spend one year working with experienced IDEO designers to address poverty-related challenges using the tools of human-centered design. Over a 12-month period, Fellows will deliver solutions for non-profits, social enterprises, and foundations on an array of topics.

Quite a short notice, but I think it's worth spreading just in case anyone is interested in it.
